Hochhaus Herrengasse, Fahnengasse Wien

Referring to the tumult of 1798 from which the Fahnengasse (“the flag lane”) derives its name from, the iridescent glass panels hang in the window panes of the exhibition space like flags – today in all possible international colours. Subject to different light conditions and alignments of the glass panels, promenaders experience constantly changing impressions. The window panes convert into a screen which pictorially mirrors the public space. Passing by breaks the viewer’s gaze into reflection, transparency and change in color allowing new pictures to evolve depending on the situation.
