SchEIN

site-specific sound-space-installation 2017  I   electrical installation pipes, cable ties, speakers, 14,7x13,9x4,3+2m

Kulturpalast, Chemnitz

The SchEIN project is an on-site sound-space sculpture that reveals the hidden inner life of the Kulturpalast Chemnitz visibly and acoustically, pointing to the electrical system of its former use as a television studio – an appearance on the fringes comes to light. Countless meters of electrical installation pipes (corrugated pipes) leave their functionally prescribed paths and occupy the accessible space, permeating and expanding through and through. Site-specific sounds pop up like color shreds, constantly irritating over and again. The visualization and acousticalization initiates a lively play from end time stage to new beginning, from pretense to reality.
